DREDZEN SHOP AND HOUSE MUSEUM

The Dredzen Shop Museum is representative of a typical general dealer of the period 1930-1950. The articles displayed are a selection taken from this 20-year period and were not, therefore, all simultaneously available throughout that phase. However, it is interesting to note how little some of the goods, the packaging and even the advertising/ marketing have changed through the years. The home and lifestyle of the post-Second World War (1939-1945) era has been recreated in the business owner’s residence, adjoining the shop to the back. Articles and furniture on display represent a typical middle class home of that period in Pilgrim’s Rest.
