The Cultural Village and Museum was established in November 1989 by the former KwaNdebele Government with a view to conserve and preserve the culture of IsiNdebele speaking people of South Africa The cultural village is situated in Nkangala region in the western part of Mpumalanga Province, where a branch of AmaNdebele settled. The village is about 32 km North of Bronkhorspruit in the Cultural Heartland on the R568 along the Bronkhorspruit to KwaMhlanga road. The village portrays the evolution of the Amandebele human settlement of the different epochs.
The uniqueness of the Amandebele culture manifests itself in various and different huts, paintings and artefacts found in the village. The visitors are taken to a wonderful tour learning experience of the Amandebele Nguni life style portrayed by different structural layout of the traditional huts reflecting human settlement constructed with natural raw material like poplar wood, grass ropes, thatch, mud and cowdung.
The village serves as one of the stopovers of tourists into Mpumalanga Province. The village consist of thirty six (36) traditional huts that demonstrate different human life style settlement.
